Bumble: News

Bumble is an online dating application where users can swipe left or swipe right to indicate their interest or disinterest in the display profile. At first, the platform appears to be very similar to the popular dating application Tinder however the key difference in bumble is that only female users can first make contact with matched male users. In same-sex matches, either person can send the message first. Bumble was founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd in 2014 shortly after she quit Tinder which she claims to have co-founded. She described Bumble as a "feminist dating app". Today, the Texas-based company trades under the ticker BMBL on the New York Stock Exchange. Bumble's IPO in February this year made Wolfe Herd the world's youngest self-made woman billionaire at the age of 31. In February, Her stake in bumble was worth approximately $1.6 billion. Bumble also happens to be America's second-largest dating app to go public after Match.com's parent company Match Group's IPO in 2015.
